Maaike van Agteren, born in the Netherlands, started her professional
education age 8 at the National ballet Academy in Amsterdam. After finishing
this she goes to France to explore more styles of dance and ends up in
Paris where she discovers a modern/jazz style with lots of ballet and
hiphop influences.
In Amsterdam she continues her education at the High School of Performing
Arts and after getting a bachelor in jazz and choreography she goes back
to Paris to dance with Dominique Lesdema in his company called ‘Kinetic’.
The following years she dances also with ‘Massive Movement dance company,
Intervention music experience, Under Construction, Royal Carribbean Cruiselines,
Dutch Dance Agency, Dragon Productions a.o.
She also makes choreographies for several companies and teaches at many
different dance schools in Europe. In her choreographies she mixes ballet,
hiphop and modern/jazz and makes them melt into her own unique flavour
where always one thing will guide her: MUSIC
